Aurvedic
Nice. Had a change to listen to a lecture by Dr. G. G. Gangadharan, (M S Ramaiah Indic Centre for Ayurveda) last month. He says Ayurveda has a very strong scientific base. He demystified certain myth about Ayurveda.
He says, Ayurveda does not take time to cure. For example, a simple viral fever, requires minimum 2 days of viral incubation to complete its life cycle, which is beneficial for the body, while medicines from Ayurveda encourage this pipeline by helping the virus to complete the cycle at the same time encouraging the body system to develop the immunity. Whereas the modern medicine (Paracetamol) kill this life cycle neither understands the cycle nor develops immunity but dumps the chemical into the body system...!
He showed some data on how Ayurvedic medicine acts with SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism ) variation by selective genome sequencing. Just mind blowing.
He also did a gap-analysis of why Ayurveda is not yet popular than modern medicines today. Essentially Ayurveda is a strong science but there are many "அரை வேக்காடு Ayurvedic specialists" , who makes/gives the wrong diagnosis/prescriptions, which demerits the actual Ayurveda. He also mentions that way of preparing the Aurvedic medicines are so precise & unique and a slightest mistake in such SOP could lead to the non-curing or dangerous consequences.
