NEET is needed or not needed is a political question. We will park this aside for a while.

When you look at syllabus, fundamentally Metric, Samacheer, CBSC, ICSC, IGSC, NIO are all SAME in terms of their boundaries. However, I see people (in social media) argue heavily, on one is better than other. The reason is these syllabuses were looked at the perspective of examinations / evaluations. I can discuss from the same posted example in detail, 12 x 10 = 120 (சமச்சீர்) and others 0.12 x 10 = ? 0.12 x 0.01 =? 120 / 0.012 =? However, it is not needed at this point I guess.

About 3 years back, my sister's daughter committed suicide for a stupid compelling (?!) reason of pointing her mistakes (home-work/etc) in the school assembly. Is this a mistake of a school system, individual or parents?

Anitha’s suicide is not very different from this. There are 1000s of screamings on the internet, saying, poor girl, her death is due to introduction of NEET exam for which she was not prepared. She was actually not poor by money, but by her attitude. She was poor by ability see, what is education.

Now I turn on the SUN news channel, Repeated play back of Anitha's death related news, predominantly saying the system of NEET has murdered the kid and that is implemented by present Govt, so raise against it. Completely politicised.

My pointer is this.,

For Teachers: What needs to be corrected is not about, what is the syllabus, but "how you teach the syllabus ?".

For Students/learners: Education is to acquire the knowledge and enjoy the learnings, NOT for writing exams or evaluation. Having a particular aim in life is good. But you would also need understand there are multiple ways / means to achieve that same aim.

For Parents: (This is a major culprit category of the society): You need to understand education is one of the many segments in life and learning is a continuous process. 10/12th examinations are not the major steps in ladder. Never force / or prepare your kids for examinations, rather sit back and discuss/enjoy how your kid is learning. "Extra tuition, special classes; comparison 'top ranked' neighbour; labelling your kid with marks/rank; pointing IIT/IISC/CCMB/Medical/Civil service exams for kids; force them to work 'hard' or similar so called 'efforts' - will eventually increase the distance from "education" to "liking the education". Until you understand / realise this, you can not stop from your kids' committing suicide on failures. நீ விதைத்ததைதான் அறுக்கிறாய்.
